We started small. We stayed focused.
furtzdesigns was born out of a genuine passion for doing things the right way. Since 2008, we've been partnering with businesses, from local tradies to large enterprises, to build their digital presence with websites that actually perform and strategies that drive real growth.
Over the years, we've seen trends come and go. We've watched the industry shift from tables to responsive design, from static pages to dynamic web apps, from "just get something online" to demanding speed, accessibility, and security as standard. Through all of it, one thing hasn't changed: our obsession with best practices.

When it mattered most
When COVID hit, businesses that had never prioritised their online presence were suddenly fighting to survive. We helped dozens of them pivot: building websites, launching digital strategies, and bringing businesses back from the brink. One plumber was weeks from closing his doors. We rebuilt his digital presence, and today he runs a thriving team.

Meet the founder
Ryan Furtner.
Founder and Digital Growth Partner
Ryan Furtner is the founder of furtzdesigns, the Adelaide Hills digital business he started in 2008. He began building websites during high school and went freelance before he'd even finished year 12. After school, Ryan completed an electrical apprenticeship and became a licensed electrician: an unusual path into web development, but one that gives him a practical, problem-solving mindset and a genuine understanding of what trade and service businesses need from their online presence.
After earning his licence, Ryan moved into a front-end developer role at Buzznumbers, a social media analytics startup based in Bondi. He quickly became the lead front-end designer and developer, helping build the product that the startup successfully sold to iSentia. Shortly after the acquisition, Ryan went out on his own to start furtzdesigns, and has been running it ever since.
Today, Ryan works directly with every client. There's no ticket system, no support queue: if something needs fixing, you call Ryan and he fixes it. That direct, personal approach is why many of his clients have been with him for over a decade, and why the studio has built and managed more than 60 websites across industries including healthcare, legal, fire safety, telecommunications, trades, and community services. His work with MAC Trade Services on the REPS rebate submission system contributed to their win at the 2024 Premier's Awards for Energy and Mining.
Ryan dedicates significant time to professional development, constantly refining his tools, workflow, and technical knowledge to stay ahead of industry changes. His process is never static: it evolves with every project to ensure clients always get the best possible outcome.
